Medicated Syrups of Chinese Medicine
Chinese medicine has an incredibly wide array of herb preparation methods, far more than the most commonly seen decoctions and tablets found in modern clinics. One traditional method, the medicated syrup or Gao Zi, has a very long history of use in China and represents an almost forgotten way of taking herbs that still has relevance for today’s patients. Join us for a fun discussion of medicated syrups, including their methods of preparation and administration, a review of exemplar formulas, and a look at their use in the Nourishing Life tradition of Chinese medicine. Tasting to be included!
